Christmas on the River presented by Hyundai will take place November 20 – December 31, 2025, featuring festive experiences that capture the magic of the holidays along Savannah’s historic waterfront. As Presenting Sponsor, Hyundai will play an integral role in elevating the jolliest season on River Street including the Savannah Christmas Market, Dance & Musical Performances, the Lighted Christmas Street Parade, and more.

November 20 – December 31 – Savannah Christmas Market at Plant Riverside District
Voted one of the Best Holiday Markets in the U.S. by USA Today. Explore booths offering everything from handcrafted gifts and holiday décor to artisanal treats and unique finds. Stroll through the sparkling Festival of Trees, savor festive food and beverage options while enjoying holiday performances and children’s activities.
November 29 – 24th Annual Savannah Lighted Boat Parade & Holiday Kickoff at Eastern Wharf
Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, friends and families gather at the waterfront for a dazzling spectacle of lights on the Savannah River. Led by the Georgia Queen Riverboat from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, over 30 boats adorned with extravagant holiday light displays will loop twice from Eastern Wharf to the Talmadge Bridge and back past Plant Riverside District and all of River Street. The Park at Eastern Wharf serves as the parade’s headquarters and staging area where emcees welcome participants and a panel of judges determine the award winners along the newly extended riverwalk. The parade boats begin and end their voyage at the dock at Eastern Wharf, making it a prime parade watching location. Enjoy a night of holiday cheer at the Holiday Kickoff at Eastern Wharf from 5:00pm – 10:00pm. Highlights include the annual lighting of the Eastern Wharf Christmas trees, a visit from Santa Claus, food trucks, entertainment, and more!
December 12 & 13 – Savannah’s Waterfront Dance and Musical Performances at Plant Riverside District
Christmas on the River festivities continue with delightful holiday tunes, lively performances, and plenty of holiday spirit! Performances by local dance and musical groups including the 3rd Infantry Division Brass Band are scheduled for December 12 from 5pm – 7:30pm and December 13 from noon – 4:30pm.
December 13 – 33rd Annual Lighted Christmas Street Parade
Stepping off at 5:30pm and featuring over 50 vibrant floats decked out in twinkling lights, merry dancing groups, bands and more, the Lighted Christmas Parade is a magical spectacle that parades down River Street then through downtown.
December 31- New Year’s Eve Midnight Fireworks Show
Savannah’s Waterfront is the place to be on New Year’s Eve with a festive atmosphere perfect for ringing in the new year. The evening features a variety of celebrations hosted by our waterfront restaurants, bars, and hotels – offering live music, dancing, special menus, and themed parties. As midnight approaches, crowds gather along the river to experience the highlight of the night: a spectacular 10-minute fireworks show launched from a barge on the Savannah River. The fireworks light up the sky and reflect over the water, creating a breathtaking display that marks the start of the new year in true Savannah style.
