Fall Comedy Series Featuring Karen Mills, Jen Kober and Alex Velluto

District Live, a state-of-the-art live music venue at Plant Riverside District in Savannah, Ga., is pleased to announce a new Fall Comedy Series, featuring the side-splitting humor of nationally acclaimed comedian Karen Mills, actress and award-winning LGBTQ+ comic Jen Kober and Boston Comedy Festival finalist Alex Velluto.
“As Savannah’s Entertainment District, we want to provide opportunities for area residents, visitors and guests to enjoy top comedians at District Live,” said Scotty Henley, Director of Entertainment at JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. “Our Fall Comedy Series will bring some of the nation’s top comedians and rising talent to the Hostess City.”

Originally from Cleveland, Tenn., Karen Mills has toured the country for more than 25 years, appearing on “The Grand Ole Opry” as well as season 12 of “America’s Got Talent” and garnering millions of views on clips of her Dry Bar Comedy special “Pink Pants.” A regular on Sirius XM’s comedy channels, Mills shares keen observations about the realities of life and hilarious, relatable anecdotes that leave listeners laughing at themselves. From the struggles of menopause to her cancer diagnosis in 2013, Mills has turned her pain into punchlines.

Jen Kober is an award-winning comedian from Lake Charles, La., who brings an original blend of stand-up, storytelling and improv rock-n-roll comedy to the stage. A two-time winner of NPR’s Snap Judgment Comedic Performance of the Year, Kober is also a talented actor who has appeared on numerous television shows, including “The Mandalorian,” “American Horror Story” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” A popular LGBTQ+ performer and supporter, Kober is a regular on Apple TV’s sitcom “The Browns” and was featured in Audible’s Pride special “Owning It.” Kober will be joined by Jeff D., a talented comedian with a distinctly Southern sense of humor and point of view.

A rising star in the comedy world and a Boston Comedy Festival finalist, Alex Velluto is the only comedian to have performed in three Dry Bar comedy specials. Velluto’s exceptional comedic talent has earned him millions of online views and critical acclaim for his 2023 special “The Big Gulp Kid.” To date, Velluto has performed at the Big Sky Comedy Festival, Seattle International Comedy Competition and hundreds of cities across the U.S. on the Dry Bar Comedy Tour. With his sharp observational humor and piercing punchlines, Velluto effortlessly connects with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
