Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, friends and families gather at the waterfront for a dazzling spectacle of lights on the Savannah River. The 25th Annual Savannah Lighted Boat Parade takes place on Saturday, November 28, 2026 and will be led by the Georgia Queen Riverboat. Thirty dedicated captains and their crews create extravagant holiday light displays and parade twice from Eastern Wharf to the Talmadge Bridge and back past Plant Riverside District and all of River Street.
Holiday cheer is abundant at the Holiday Kickoff at Eastern Wharf. Highlights include the annual lighting of the Eastern Wharf Christmas trees, a visit from Santa Claus, food trucks, and entertainment! The Park at Eastern Wharf serves as the parade’s headquarters and staging area where emcees welcome participants and a panel of judges determine the award winners along the newly extended riverwalk. The parade boats begin and end their voyage at the dock at Eastern Wharf, which makes it a prime parade watching location.
Plant Riverside District was also an excellent boat parade watching location. The Savannah Christmas Market at Plant Riverside District is in full swing with lights, music, shopping, festive food and beverage options and joyful crowds. Stroll through the Festival of Trees and marvel at the Gingerbread Display in the Power Plant Lobby.
Rousakis Riverfront Plaza and all along the riverwalk are also great parade watching locations. Take time to stroll and shop along the waterfront for unique gifts available at our River Street merchants!
