Here’s What You Need to Know for St. Pat’s on River Street

To ensure everyone to has a fun and safe St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, please note this important information below:

There is no alcohol service on our public areas, you MUST enter an establishment to get a drink. You CAN take that drink outside in a plastic 16oz to-go cup.

Everyone will need to show ID to purchase alcohol every time, no gray hair exceptions.

River Street and all ramps from MLK, Jr. Blvd. to the east end will close to vehicular traffic on Friday, March 14 at 4pm and remain closed through Tuesday morning, March 18.

City parking lots along River Street also will close Friday, March 14 and remain closed until Tuesday, March 18. Port-A-Johns will be placed in the three public parking lots.

When you call for an Uber or Lyft after 10pm you will be dropped off at, or picked up from, one of three locations only. This is to help rideshare move quickly through the uncongested areas of the downtown. Please do not flag your driver down in the middle of the street – they could face a citation from local police.

Coolers, multiple cups per person, glass, cans, exotic animals, fireworks, bangs, snaps and smoke bombs, skates and skateboards, bicycles, as well as dangerous, disruptive behavior are all prohibited this weekend.

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) – is providing $5 shuttles on parade day, and the City of Savannah is sponsoring zero-fare bus service from Saturday, March 15 through Monday, March 17.
