Make plans to spend Independence Day on Savannah’s Waterfront

Savannah’s Waterfront will be hosting its annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4th. This event is open to all, with no entry fee, and metered parking downtown will be free for the day. Several waterfront restaurants will be providing food and drink specials. The 3rd Infantry Division Band, based at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, GA, is scheduled to perform at the Rousakis Riverfront Plaza at 6:30 pm.

The Independence Day Fireworks Show will kick off at 9:30 pm, with an estimated duration of 20 minutes. Attendees at the waterfront are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, but refrain from bringing coolers. The fireworks will be launched from a barge in the Savannah River, with the Savannah Convention Center serving as the backdrop.

Eastern Wharf will be holding a free community concert, featuring a 90-minute riverfront performance by the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. This event, running from 7-10 p.m., will offer a fantastic view of the fireworks display.

Stars & Stripes Celebration at Plant Riverside District takes place Thursday, July 4th through Sunday, July 7th. There is no shortage of things to do and enjoy during this holiday weekend from family-friendly lawn games during the day in MLK Park, live entertainment on multiple stages, family crafts and activities, as well as a variety of food offerings.

Savannah Riverboat Cruises offers a unique 90-minute July 4th Fireworks Cruise, complete with drink specials and a stunning view of the fireworks display. Savannah’s Waterfront welcomes everyone to join in the celebration of our nation’s independence.
