“Big Comedy Network at District Live” Featuring Cocoa Brown
November 11, 2022 @ 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm
Plant Riverside District – Savannah, Ga.’s most exciting destination for dining, shopping and live entertainment – will continue its monthly “Big Comedy Network at District Live” series with five live performances by award-winning comedian Cocoa Brown.
Brown is an actress, comedian and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee who draws from hard-knock lessons and personal memories to bravely weave humorous tales that uplift audiences and change their perspective on comedy. Nicknamed “The Truth” by her loyal fans, Brown was a featured performer at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and performed on “Shaquille O’Neal Presents All-Star Comedy Jam” before starring in her own television special “Cocoa Brown: Famous Enough.”
Known for her lead role in Tyler Perry’s film “The Single Mom’s Club” and “For Better or Worse” on the OWN network, Brown is also featured in the 50 Cent/Starz cable network series “BMF: Black Mafia Family,” “P-Valley” and “Single Drunk Female.” She has also enjoyed supporting roles in major motion pictures such as “Ted 2” and “Lakeview Terrace” with Samuel L. Jackson. Most recently, she was cast as a series regular in the new Apple TV+ comedy “The Big Door Prize.”
A native of Newport News, Va., Brown has been dubbed “a comedy machine gun” by America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne and was honored as the Moms Mabley Legacy Award winner as well as the DC Comedian of the Year.
Landry, a Canadian-born comedian who now calls Atlanta home, will serve as Brown’s opening act. Known for his charismatic hair and relatable, off-the-wall comedy, Landry earned recognition as the “Best Male Comic” at the Atlanta Stands Up Awards and took home the top prize at the Boston Comedy Festival as well as the World Series of Comedy.
