An Evening with Squad Five-O
May 23 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$12
Squad Five-O was founded in 1996 by identical twin brothers John and Jeff Fortson on the gritty east side of Savannah, GA. From 1996 to 2005, the band toured relentlessly across the United States, dropping five electrifying albums on three different labels, including the iconic Capitol Records! Squad Five-O’s musical journey was a thrilling fusion of punk, ska, rock, reggae, and more, but no matter what genre they explored, they stayed true to their punk roots, always bringing raw energy and an unbreakable connection to their fans.
Though the band officially called it quits in 2005, the fire never fully burned out. Squad Five-O reunited for electrifying performances in 2012, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022, and in February 2022, they independently dropped their sixth album Solid Gold. But here’s the kicker: after an epic 23-year absence, Squad Five-O is finally returning to their hometown of Savannah for one unforgettable night of live music!
About the film:
Squad Five-O made a huge impact on the 90’s ska punk scene with their 1000’s of blistering fast, and unpredictably chaotic live shows. But their willingness to make every person in the room a part of the show made them legendary. This energy and kindness propelled them up to a major label, where they lost the values from the early days, and abruptly broke up the band, ghosting the fans in the process.
In this film, you’ll experience the joy of seeing them back together, and celebrate the new lineup re-assembled in 2017, followed by the recording of “Solid Gold”. The energy, kindness and spirit of Squad Five-O’s early days is still present, and you’ll get to experience it all in this film.
